If we can’t meet up with people we admire in public during the COVID-19 pandemic, what better than to pay them a properly socially-distanced visit? That’s just what we did when we dropped in on Sarah Maude Beauchesne in her Montreal backyard terrasse. The authoress, screenwriter and actress, known under her pseudonym of ‘Fourchette’, was more than accommodating on an unseasonably hot day.
Discussion with Sarah-Maude Beauchesne
Over a glass of excellent red, Sarah Maude talked about her work routine (practically unchanged as she works at home), her tastes (art-deco, retro treasures and a refined aesthetic), her pleasures (wine, veggie bbq’s, lilacs, trees and friends), and her style (local, indie clothing brands—especially woman-fronted ones).
Like all of us, she’s looking forward to days out, conversations that spark ideas, and meetings that turn to influences, without worrying about the necessary rules and regulations. Until then, she’s making herself perfectly comfortable at home.
Sarah Maude is wearing her go-to summer Vallier pieces, the Ginza dress and the Riverdale shirt. Catch her in Fourchette and follow her on instagram @lesfourchettes.
